Hoyt brings over 25 years of experience to our firm’s tax planning and investment management. He earned his Bachelor of Accountancy from the Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi. Early in his career, Hoyt worked in several publicly traded national and regional firms as a business analyst and investment consultant. After gaining years of experience with these firms, he left to go into private practice and started his own financial advisory firm in 1999.
Hoyt has extensive experience in consulting with closely held businesses, estate and trust planning, charitable giving strategies, as well as other areas of taxation. He specializes in working with business owners and high net worth clients in successfully navigating the management of their businesses from mid-stage to succession planning and is highly experienced in guiding clients through acquisitions by third parties, ESPOP’s and Private Equity Groups.
Hoyt’s focuses include working with construction companies and other trade contractors to minimize taxes while keeping their working capital expectations and bonding programs compliant with banks and insurance companies. He also works with physician clients and other business owners to minimize tax liabilities and provides financial planning, insurance analysis and risk management techniques. Hoyt has extensive knowledge of ERISA and consults with his clients on both qualified and non-qualified plan design, implementation and ongoing compliance with Department of Labor requirements for plan sponsors. He is a member of Financial Services Institute and Association of Builders and Contractors.
Hoyt is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. He and his wife, Angie, have two children: John Hoyt and Rivers. He and his family attend Christ United Methodist Church and Hoyt also works with several organizations to help non-profits serve the needs of under resourced people.
